Biography

The French-Swiss soprano Bénédicte Tauran is a sought-after interpreter of Baroque, Classical, and contemporary repertoire. She has appeared at Theater an der Wien, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Theater Luzern, and the opera houses of Linz, Freiburg, Lausanne, and Bordeaux. She has worked with conductors such as Christophe Rousset and Marek Janowski, and with stage directors including Laurent Pelly and Achim Freyer. From 2014 to 2018, she was a member of the ensemble at Kassel Opera. She has won numerous competitions (including the Mozart Prize in Geneva and the Viotti Competition in Lausanne) and has been teaching voice at the Mozarteum Salzburg since 2024.
